Absolutely loved this breakfast at Pillar of Salt. The foods were great sizes but just full of flavour. While i had your 'stock standard' breakfast of eggs benedict, it was done so well. Slow braised ham hock, the minted peas and pear cider vinegar hollandaise made this miles above the rest by way of a good eggs benny. The Nordic breakfast also looked amazing and just so well done with beautiful handmade treats all over the board -
The Peanut Butter Choc Chip Buttermilk Pancakes were delicious. Topped with a mountain of creme fraische and pretzels, the stack of three pancakes stood high and tall. The pancakes themselves were a denser variety, with a slightly bouncy feedback. Smothered with peanut butter on top, this was perfectly complemented by the chocolate bits within the pancakes. The crunch of the pretzels were perfectly juxtaposed by the exceptionally fresh cubes of figs and mango, though the flavour didn’t quite gel with the peanut butter itself, which we could’ve done with more of. The slight sourness of the creme friasche worked rather well with the mangos though.
It was overall a tasty but unsurprising breakfast, a rather standard thoroughfare. The flavours of the components could’ve definitely worked better, though still remained enjoyable nonetheless.
A little corner café , nice lively cafe with nice interior and setting. It extends all the way through the back and provides a great outdoor area on a sunny day. Love the food and coffee here. They have assorted savoury and sweet pastries on display. Skim Latte $3.80 presented with a beautiful latte art and great flavour. Creamy and not bitter which I like my coffees. Drinks come out relatively quick but mains took about 30mins. We ordered the pancakes with sliced bananas. All dishes are large portioned and filling. Overall a nice place and good service. Would definitely recommend!
I've driven past past this lovely cafe a few times but didn't actually visit it so finally gave it a go with a friend on a Saturday. It was so busy that we thought that we wouldn't get a table but they have more space at the back. The design is lovely. Could feel the cosy atmosphere when we walked in and was welcomed by friendly staff. We had nordic breakfast board and roasted cauliflower with kimchi and corn fritters. Thought that kimchi would be weird for the dish but everything was fantastic except for the dry rye toast. Coffee was amazing. We both left happy!
