Its been ahile since dining here. I only usually come here when its a work function or event. So on this occasion it was a farewell to a team member. We had already pre-ordered our food the morning and had a booking for 12pm. We were seated outside which was nice but after a while it did start to heat up as there didnt seem to be any air-con running and as it was windows that allowed the sun to come through, it heated up the back area pretty fast. Service was a bit slow on this day. Although we pre-ordered we had to ask the staff how long it was going to be as some of the team members had to head back by 1pm as they had meetings to attend. When the food came out, some gobbled it down so quickly as they had to leave. I slowly enjoyed my pulled pork sliders with a bit of chips on the side. Haven't been here for a very long time. Platform 28, good for after work drinks for those working in the docklands area. On this day it was a wednesday, our team came down to celebrate a success achievement. It was 4pm, had a few people in there already starting with drinks. We ordered nibbles, chips, wedges and onion rings. Fresh and chunky and crunchy. Just as good as i remembered the chips to be from the last time i was there. Golden and just the right amount of salt. The onions rings were real big onions, nicely battered and can taste every bit of the fired onion ring which was really good. WOuld be nice to try out the dinner menu but will save that for another time. Great place to be on a nice warm day. The outdoor area is quite big and indoor area has the soft couches or the bar stools. Staff were nice and friendly and were very accommodating. We ordered a few drinks which the bar tender was very quick with serving.
Good place for after work drinks on a friday. Close to southern cross station. There is an outdoor terrance and indoor area. Also upstairs is for private function in which i've been for a work event and it seems pretty nice and ideal to hold a birthday or celebration there. Love the house cut chunky chips with mustard aioli. Always tastes fresh and home-made and the onion rings isn't too bad either. One time i was there, there was a live band which gave it a different atmosphere but overall the choice of music is pretty good and up to date.
