Its been quite sometime since I´ve last eaten here. We were here to celebrate an event and had pre-booked a banquet for a large table. The service was really good, they had contacted a day in advance to re-confirm and on arrival had our booking all correct. One of the dishes that we had, we felt the meat wasn´t too great and had advise the waiter, he didn´t hesitate to remove the dish and had the chef and himself try it immediately and inform us that they didn´t think there was anything wrong with it, however was more than happy to replace with another dish if we felt comfortable. Price wise the banquet was ok, however the overall quality we felt could have been better. Service wise exceptional!
Not as good as i remembered. Have not been to plume chinese restaurant at highpoint for a very long time and as a family we were celebrating 2 birthdays so we thought to spoil ourselves and eat at plume. I know yum cha here is very busy and quite good but for dinner this time round the food quality was not the greatest. We ordered a banquet for 8 people, service was good and food cane out as reasonable time within each dish so we weren't left waiting too long. Staff were flexible in allowing us to change a certain dish to another from their set banquet menu and they were always nice about everything. One dish the beef with veggies in particular everyone tried a piece and said the same thing that it didnt taste fresh and there was a funny smell to it. Basically that was a full dish untouched so we raised our concern to the waiter who took the dish back and said nothing was wrong with it but they were more than happy to change it to something else. One of the two well known yum Cha places in the west. Came here on a Sunday morning to have yum Cha with my family around 11.30. Although the restaurant did not appear to be at full capacity, we had to wait by the door for 15 mins until we got to sit down. As soon as we sat waitress asked what type of tea we wanted which was great to get settled in.
However, we had to wait for another 15 mins for the trolley of food to come around. The dim sum and dessert was tasty and traditional. They were decent size for what you pay for, depending on what you order.
Overall experience is what I would expect of a busy Sunday rush for yum Cha. Happy to come back but recommend maybe line up before the line opens.
I have been going to plume for years and it hasn't changed. Which is a good thing. Colliding trolleys, stacks of dumplings and large group talking over each other. Even with the slightly worn interior this place has a real warmth and makes me think of family. To me this is comfort food. I don't need the bells and whistles when this place feels so real.
