I was searching for the elusive perfect baguette to serve with dinner for my French exchange student, my dentist lives near the Gordon branch and told me that this place could,do the trick .not cheap, and I'm sorry to say, young Guillaume's verdict " it is just like supermarket bread in France ". I would like to retun though, as they deserve another try. Baguettes are boring and tasteless, a bit like Guillaume, alors?.
Strange attitude, never get a smile here... BUT their Danish pastries are the best I've had in Sydney... My favourite is sour cherry danish and it's so addictive... Food is Viet style (Pho soup, rolls) but they don't have any sauce for their fresh rice paper rolls - bizarre - can't eat them without the sauce! I don't like any of their cakes either - bought a cup cake for my child and it was awful - like the ones you make at home from a mix only drier... Not worth their price, for sure.#reviewtowin
This is a wonderful little Bakery/cafe, food is always fresh. Their Vietnamese noodle dishes and fresh bread, cakes and sandwiches are superb. I have also found their coffee to being among the best in Lane Cove and have never had an issue with the service. They deliver a variety of good food at very reasonable prices. Highly recommend.
I have been a regular of this place since the new owners renovated it and took over. The owner is a truly lovely, genuine person. I come here at least 1-2 times per week. Because we are regulars, sometimes they will kindly give little treats to my girls. The food is fantastic! My daughters and I love their rice paper rolls, but their lunch baguettes and salads are so delicious and freshly made. Coffee is good too. I love their San Francisco Yeast Free Sourdough and their french baguettes. Sure, sometimes 1-2 of the staff get a bit grumpy at times, but they are mostly OK. The food is what keeps people coming back and that's why it's always busy in this place - they love the food too.
Not only you are not welcome at this place, when you say good morning you are encounter with sour, angry faces and a their lips down. Now not only are the pastries, bake good super small but they are 50c-80c more expensive then anywhere in Lane Coves finest & proper coffee shops!. Also they try to charge $1 for warming up or toasting your 1 very thinly slice of bread!!! Avoid this place!
