I've been going to the Prahran pool, off and on for a few years and each time I visit Melbourne when it's hot. I must have visited at least 50 times and I've always found the pool to be fun, easy going and a great place to hang with the locals. However, a recent visit went off the rails when we tried to buy something from the cafe. Whilst queing for a sandwhich and coffee we were aggressively informed, as were about 10 other people in the line, that you can't take your sandwhich or coffee back to sit by the pool - 'you'll have to eat it inside' was yelled aggressively at the people in front and behind. We all looked at each other and left. Not sure what's going on here but seems the pool has installed some nightmare people in the cafe with a new set of rules that makes you want to stay away.
