Press Food & Wine
The ground floor eatery at press* is the perfect place to sit back and relax with a glass of wine. If you happen to also be feeling a little peckish our kitchen is open all day. Cooking for us is considered a craft and we're very 'in-house' when it comes to curing, pickling, baking, brining, smoking. A winning combination of passion and ethics goes into our food -we simply want to bring the best products to the table and have fun doing it.
A perfect place for double date night. We got a nice little corner booth for the group of us. The food was very impressive, with the pork buns being my favourite dish! My steak was cooked perfectly and they were happy to substitute the mushroom sauce for a delicious béarnaise. The only thing that we were a little unsure about was when it came time to get the bill and we were charged for the table bread. However, once we read the little card that went with it and saw that it was for charity, we figured that was ok.
First time here for a friends birthday and it was great. We were nicely seated in a booth upstairs overlooking the cool bar area. The food was great and the service and staff were so friendly. Definitely will come back to give it a try and also their desserts - was just too full that I couldn't fit a souffl in!
After several attempts over the previous months we finally secured a table downstairs for a catch up with a friend. The staff were excellent from the moment we walked in the door and were considerate of the fact that we had lots to talk about hence the time taken to choose anything. A decent wine list made the wine decision difficult. Lots to choose on the menu which is always a good thing however, when the food arrived it was....ok. The pork bun was hyped as the item to have but when it arrived it was light on pork and not particularly juicy. It was tasty but not the best pork bun I've had in recent times. The slow braised lamb was fine. I think the stand out items were the raw items that we ordered - the yellowfin and kingfish. The beef with tamarind dressing was interesting. There are many restaurants in Adelaide with a similar theme at the moment so I'm not sure that I will rush back.
