Prince Of Wales Hotel

went to the Prince as it was recommended by a friend, had my normal Chicken schnitzel and it was excellent, good size and value for money, lovely service in the bistro bar area. checked out the pokies, seen this double sized pokie machine so i thought i would check it out. went to the cashier to get $20 in coin, this is where my rating of the hotel hit the floor, waited for service, and waited and waited.... the young guy working there was more focused on talking to a young guy about some kind of weight gain drink.. waited a bit longer... stood next to the young lad and still no service, so i used the self serve coin machine, played the double sized machine and won $40, that did make me happy. cashed out and went back to the bar to collect my coin, young man is now doing something with his mobile phone, so i wait.... and wait... i start shaking my coin in my cup to get his attention and bingo! he looks up and says "ill be just a minute" i just walked ...read more

I always like it when I stumble across a pub that I never realise existed, even if the pub turns out not to be all that much. I guess this is one of those pubs namely because all it really is is a bistro and a gaming lounge (nobody ever went into the front bar so they basically closed it down). I guess what I liked about this pub was the really friendly bar person, though it isn't the only pub that the bar person is friendly, it just happened to enlighten what in effect was a rather dull pub. They also have a small beer garden, and it is basically for the smokers, though it is larger than your typical smokers cage and does have a some seating there as well. Okay, not the most exciting of pubs, but the friendly staff did give to a bit of a boost.
