Prince of Wales Hotel

On the one hand, not happy. Ordered a rissotto but was later told they were out. So I ordered a steak instead. Well done. And guess what? It was what I asked for, a nice tasty well done steak with mushroom sauce. And a side of chips and veg. And to top it of when I went for a glass of wine the register played up so the bar person gave it to me gratis.

Okay, this certainly isn't my favourite pub in Richmond by a long shot, but the thing I like about it is the huge statue of the knight that sits over the front door (and there is another one inside as well). Basically this is your standard pokies pub/sports bar, with a bistro thrown in for good luck. I've been here a couple of times, the first time when I had just arrived in Melbourne and was driving down Church street after dropping off my first load of stuff at my new house, and this was the first place I recognised as a pub (thanks to the huge statue out the front). Anyway, the only good thing about this pub is that it seems to be a tribute to the Black Prince from the hundred years war, however other than that there is really nothing about this place that would draw me back to it in a hurry.

They are staff were rude and its refurbished but it cant take away the dirty feeling of the place.

What a brilliant hotel. Very stylish rooms. Bit like the Establishment Hotel in Sydney. Excellent.
