Service extremely poor, I wish I didn't book my guitars in at this shop.
Was advised 6 weeks, after many calls in which I was told next week I arranged to pick
up the guitar more than 6 months later. When I picked the guitar up no electrics or hardware installed
and was made to pay $174 for EMR for the shielding which was completed. The guy doesn't care about his customers
and once he has your gear you cant do anything about it. I also picked up my bass two months earlier same problem but at least he only charged $40 for the EMR shielding but again was in pieces.
Waste of time and money. Don't tell people 6 weeks if you cant do it!!
Thank you Wade for taking the time to write a review. I am disappointed that you didn't mention that you cracked your first plate and we provided a free service for you afterwards. You were charged the appropriate amount for the repairs to the instrument noted and you were asked to pick it up for treating our store and the owner with disrespect. The time frames you have noted are also embellished. I can understand that sometimes people may get frustrated with the amount of time a particular repair may take, however on this occasion it was a major repair, you were advised of this in the first instance and no finite time schedule was given you as your priority was for premium service at a reasonable (discounted) rate. At that time it wasn't an issue for you. I am sorry that my decision to ask you to pick up your instrument as a result of your poor attitude has been met with anger and the desire to embellish the facts to cause harm to our business, however I do ...read more
This store is peerless when it comes to knowledgeable one-on-one service, especially on the guitar side. Having played music for nearly 40 years, I have a fairly good idea what that entails. I had my Martin, Hummingbird, and Guild 12 in here for resets and every one has come back a dream.
The equipment range is great, from startup to pro, and the staff know their stuff. If you take the time to listen and contribute, you'd be surprised.
I've been a customer of Pro Guitar since it first opened in the old (now demolished premises) and have always found the service very good. The staff have always been knowledgeable and willing to assist me when the time came to purchase a wide range of gear including 2 electric guitars, 1 acoustic, 1 bass guitar, bass and guitar amps, mixer, PA speakers and other items too numerous to mention.
The pricing provided by the proprietor has always been very competitive, meaning I can truly shop locally for mine and my family's musical requirements. The gear stocked is in the medium to high end category and I have been present when 'prospects' don't respect the fact and attempt to manhandle the instruments with asking.
Disappointing that the negative reviews have been posted, but I know there are many satisfied Pro Guitar customers around.
Terrible does not being to describe the appalling treatment I received in this store. The store person was angry, elitist and rude. I tried to have a conversation with them and they asked me to leave which was unreasonable, I had done nothing wrong. I remain baffled that a store could operate with such a disgraceful attitude towards their customers. Avoid at all costs.
It is unfortunate that the nature of a music store is that prospects (people who do not shop with us - these are not customers) come in and are rude to our staff and disrespectful of our store and our time. These are the only two reasons that a person would be asked to leave. We appreciate our good customers who have supported and continue to support our business. We welcome good customers to our store any time.
Let's look at "prospect" in the dictionary... "a potential customer, client, or purchaser". How would one be expected to become a "good" customer if they are not given the opportunity to browse your merchandise? I would have purchased some strings that day if I was politely assisted. I wasn't. Instead I was made to feel unwelcome, I was stared at like a thief, intimidated, insulted and asked to leave.
Instead of making excuses, accusations and blaming your increasing negative publicity on individuals why not try addressing the situation with some staff training, review of your policy and employ an active approach to cultivate interest in your business? Instead of capriciously turning people away based on ...read more
Thank you GrizzlyAdams??name unknown. We apologise that you find a reasonable response to a negative attitude elitist, rude, offensive or insulting. Personally I don't feel that a store should be asked to alter a policy that requests respect of it's premises and its staff, however in the interests of remaining current we will look into it and see if other stores respond differently to poor attitudes. Thank you for your feedback. We will take it on board and work harder to please our good customers.
First of all, as the photos show, this store also had a cafe. I went to check it out one morning, and while there I ordered a coffee and raisin toast. The person taking the order took this request for raisin toast as something completely bizarre, and I was dismissed it with a "I don't know what you're talking about"
Secondly, their website promotes "Call our friendly staff...". If you do, I hope you speak to one of the staff, and not a management staff. I would have ...read more
It would be very nice if we knew who this was. The list of happy customers is extensive, and yes we no longer have a cafe, but we have advice of that everywhere. We appreciate good customers, ultimately we try and help everyone, but sometimes when we are busy not everyone can be served perhaps the way they would like. We urge this person to make themselves known to us - the amount of spam negative reviews on the internet nowadays is huge. Kind Regards - The management of Pro Guitar and Sound.
This review has changed since our original reply. It is interesting that our previous cafe keeps getting mentioned, particularly with now a new reference to raisin toast being unfamiliar to us. Considering that raisin toast was one of our most popular sellers I find this bizarre. Also considering this review was posted a week ago and referring to premises that existed prior to October 2012. Also suggesting that comments continually were raised about not knowing, again, we always try and maintain a high knowledge base across all elements within our business. I can't assume what the reviewer may be taking about here as there are no specifics.
My review was motivated by about three visits where each time I came away with the feeling that the person I dealt with was rude and there was an attitude problem towards customers. It was NOT made just for the sake of negative publicity, it was how I felt about MY experience. I'm glad to see that someone else who has also experienced this rudeness has felt the need to let it be known.
