This is my favourite splurge restaurant in Brisbane, the first time I went here was to take my best friend out for a fancy dinner on her birthday, we had cocktails, we shared way too many plates of food, one of which was the most fantastic plate of mac n' cheese that I've ever had. I went back about a month ago and the menu has changed so sadly no more mac n' cheese but everything on there is still incredible. I love the location as well, having the full glass walls overlooking the city just makes you feel like a million bucks.
Love the relaxed yet classy vibes of this restaurant/wine bar. I was drawn to this place because of their neon escalators but what I discovered inside was even more trendy. The high ceiling, friendly staff and chilled atmosphere was exactly what I needed after my flight. The dishes are clearly made for sharing and they offer quite a unique selection - I even ate ants! Nonetheless, it was a great find and I would most likely revisit if I happen to be in Brisbane again.
Chaotic rant... brace yourselves!
AMAZING. This was a work-event discovery for me. I was impressed. Beautifully designed from its moody private function rooms with projector screens and degustation you will remember for years. Wide high windows create a lot of natural light on formal and busy bar. Staff are very professional and the corporate crowds pack in on a Friday. Hence this place a great starting point to a serious night out. Or a finishing point to seriously long work week.
This is THE place to have a formal event of any kind. If youre unimpressed by Brisbane as a city, this is one of its redeeming venues.
Great music, sensational lighting, perfect mix of seating and areas, great bar variety and fantastic flavoursome and well presented food.
Pretty Good, as a bar and as a restaurant.
The food, service and atmosphere at Public is all of a good standard. The food comes with the option of sharing if you are in a group or you can eat the serving by yourself. I experienced the whole saltbush lambs shoulder, which was cooked very well and tasted as good as it looked. I recommend it to anyone eating at Public.
If you are just having a drink and a snack, the salt and vinegar fries are also a good option.
The service was good, with the waiter very personable and interacting with the table.
Highly recommended.
