They can't seem to find root cause and fix. I have had Diesel particulate filter getting full every couple of month without any warning. They either lack knowledge/incapable of fixing problems despite being official land rover dealers or they take no pride in work they do.
I recently went to Purnell Motors to buy a new top-of-the-range Jaguar F-Pace. The sales representative (Colin Whybro) was cordial and accomodating, answered my questions, organised a test drive and followed up diligently. At home I decided to go to the Jaguar Land Rover website to build a car online so I could review all the options carefully. At the end of the process I noticed that the total cost on the website for a car with the exact same specifications as the car that Purnell Motors priced for me was approx $20k cheaper despite listing all the charges incl gst, stamp duty, registration, delivery etc. I then called Purnell Motors to question why there would be such a large difference and whilst at first Colin tried to blame the accuracy of the website, he eventually said that it was based on supply and demand. Bad experience with Purnell Motor Land Rover in Blakehurst my life-time nightmare! Do not go! I purchased a brand new Landrover Discovery 3 in late Dec 2008 at Purnell Mortor with a 3 years warranty. A routine full service & check was conducted by Purnell in Sep 2011- two month before the warranty expires, and I was told the car is in a perfect condition. However, on 5 Feb 12, 46 days after the warranty expired, I heard strange noise from the engine and then sent the car to Prunell for a check. Purnell staff told me there is serious problem with the fuel system and the entire system needs to be replaced with new ones, which will cost me about $15,000. All the parts\/services will not be covered by Purnell or Landrover as it is 46 days out of warranty, though the car is only 62,000km (normally the warranty will cover 100,000k or 3 years which ever came first). Thanks Purnell for the comments. Yes I asked for original purchased price refunded because the way I was treated when the problem was revealed and the advice from Purnell staff that the car is not safe to drive. Free repair offer??? That happened only after I told the staff that I will lodge a complaint with the FairTrading. I have kept all the emails in dates order and can show anyone at anytime. Purnell team, before you put a comment here again, please make sure you have seen all the evidence. Do not write something that you ONLY heard from someone else!
