Pyrmont Pharmacy

This is a good and long awaited service, and while some would complain about some extra dollars, when compared to discount chemists (that belong to multintionals) Pyrmont community CAN afford to support its own. The reliability and proximity makes it worthwhile. People in there are nice and it's open when you need it.

100% price difference on the same generic prescription medicines when comparing it to a larger chain 5 minutes walk away so it cost $67 instead of $34 means that supporting the local shops is a damned expensive exercise, which I won't be doing again anytime soon if I can help it, or at least being a lot more skeptical. There are no prices on anything and my wife got caught our because she didn't know how much I normally pay, I expected an extra cost in a small local shop but 100% is a rip-off in my book. Yes they can charge what they want but they should be more upfront about the prices, especially when generic items are specified and no prices are listed in the shop.. The manager was nice enough and approachable when I expressed my dissatisfaction, and it may be worth the extra cost for the convenience to some, but expect to pay through the nose and be sure of the prices you expect and ask for the price before you place your order.
