QC Computer

I took my PC in to QC a couple of days ago as it stopped working. They said they could take a look at it, and I asked them to call me to quote me any charges before they proceeded with anything, to which they agreed. They had some terms and conditions which they asked me to sign, on it said there was a $55 inspection charge, which I pointed at and said "so I won't be charged this? You'll call be before you do any work or charge me anything?" to which the guy agree.



When I got the quote it was $235 and I decided to get a new laptop instead. But when I stopped in to pick up my broken laptop I was told the cost was $55 for inspecting it. After 15min of back and forth they finally said they would charge me half.



I don't disagree with charging for inspections, but don't tell someone you won't and then charge them.
