Quarrymans Hotel
Located in Pyrmont near the Sydney Fish Market, the Quarrymans Hotel is set in a historic, heritage listed building. With several pool tables situated throughout the establishment and live sport being televised all day, Quarrymans is the place to either watch or play a game. Happy hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays results in schooners and sparkling wines dropping to under five dollars. Open for lunch or dinner, the kitchen serves hearty pub fare that includes a soup of the day, rump steak and chicken sandwich.
There are three words that describe this place perfectly – craft beer bar. However, there are lots of craft beer bars around the place, but this one has character, and a lot of it. In fact the beer garden out the back is nothing short of awesome. It still has the old walls of the original hotel, and is simply one of those great places to sit with some friends and a selection of craft beers. Oh, and when I say craft beers I'm not talking about the standard ones that you seem to find in pretty much every inner-city pub you walk into, I'm talking about a huge range of little known titles. It is one of those bars that it can be a real challenge to select just one beer that you want to try. Oh, and the staff are pretty cool as well, though if you want some samplers you do have to pay for a pallet.
