Queen's Rose The Sun

Been going here for about 2 years now they make some of the best prawn spring rolls I have ever eaten in my life and that service is great also the chicken and sweetcorn soup is the best I've had it about 40000 Vietnamese restaurants and they can't compare

I only went here because my regular restaurant was full and we were in a large group so I ended up here and really liking this restaurant a lot. They make an amazing salt and pepper squid which is a must try. Friendly staff, quick service and fresh and good valued food - can't go wrong with that combination. Recommended.

I got recommended this place from a friend because I live in the area and love Vietnamease food but only like good quality!!!! So I have been to the best places in Hoddle St and they are the bench mark! Queen Rose while the decor isnt the best but from far the worst the food is Amazing far better than other restaurants!!! I give it Five Stars and would endorse this place to all who love Vietnamease food. It is the best kept seceret in the West.

So I'll start off by being frank & stating the facts. The decor here is far from special. Its not an ultra chic modern restaurant with a decor that makes you think its worthy bringing friends from interstate or overseas here to see the new "it" restaurant. In fact, its quite the opposite. Queen's Rose The Sun has a bit of that old school vibe. Its plain. It's simple. But you don't come here for the decor or to be seen. You come for the food & when you do you'll be rewarded...in spades! The owner was very welcoming & very giving of his time. "I'll make something very special for you not on the menu" he said. Generally that comment makes me uneasy. Do they think I've got a boring palette that needs to be catered for? Is there produce in the back nearing expiry date that needs to be used? This restaurant is very nice indeed. The beef with lemongrass chilli is very tasty. Thanks for the suggestion Penguin! The only negative is that the food does sometimes take a while to come out but it is worth the wait. Out of all the Vietnamese restaurants, this is my favourite. The staff are very polite and always happy. Very Good!
