Although the information here has been out of date. The new japanese cuisine is extremely amazing, with the master chef Ibuki's comming. The sashimi should be the No.1 in melbourne. The ambiance still mostly remains as before and I just had a quick look at function area, which has been renovated and added some new elements of happiness and enjoyment. Strongly recommend!!

Surrounded by construction for the past 18 months, the R Bar has patiently bided its time in one of Melbourne's premier positions to reemerge as a favourite for locals and those flocking to the bay for some suburban respite. Locals are looked after with a $15 menu on a Tuesday night, live entertainment once a month on a Sunday afternoon along with many other special dinners and events throughout the year. The chefs special menu features seasonal highlights such as lamb shanks and osso bucco in winter and warm lamb salad and fresh seafood offerings in the summer months. The wine list is reasonable and the service is welcoming and friendly. If looking for a place to hold that special function, one can't go past the upstairs area with 'wow'views of the bay and a menu to suit the occasion and budget.

Contemporary atmosphere with a fantastic view of the beach. We dined here last Autumn with the view of the sunset. The food was very tasty and filling. I had the seafood linguini. They also have jazz nights as well.
