Dined here in Restaurant 10 August, Shared two entrees Sausage with Stilton cheese sauce over parsnip puree, and pork belly with scallops. Both very memorable dishes. Main was salmon on risotto with citrus mayonaisse. Again the fish was brilliantly cooked, tender and juicy and a great combination of flavours. Shared dessert was rhubarb and apple crumble with mixed berry crush and vanilla ice-cream brilliantly refreshing. Two glasses of bubbly and two beers all for a tip over $80. Service was as attentive as you would want but not intrusive. An absolute food gem in the Western suburbs. Recommend food and service without hesitation, but remember it is still a pub.
My fiance & I have dined here numerous times over the last 6 months or so and we have been impressed with every meal we've had there. The prices we found to be similar to other places in the area and quite reasonable for such great food. We've always received great service and staff are always polite & courteous. I have never noticed anything like the reviews by AFoodie and MarieBorg who appear to have dined together and had a bad experience. Personally I wouldn't right them off from one bad day, sometimes you need to give people the benefit of the doubt.
We dined in the restaurant, and while the meals were good value ($16.95 for two courses mid week), the service was really bad. Three impatient wait staff who couldn't wait two minutes for us to be seated & look at the menu pushing for orders. Didn't listen, kept interrupting conversation, wanted to race us through our meals & drinks and generally seemed to have no idea about how to do their job. Not clearing plates and glasses while still in use is one of those basic things I thought they teach at hospitality school
The meals in the restaurant have always been excellent. However the waiter service on 1/12/2010 was appalling. Three waiters tried to rush us through the whole experience. The moment we sat down, the entire wine list and special options were recited to us in an attempt to hurry our choice. Our conversations were repeatedly interrupted, requested water was not delivered, attempts to clear when we still had a fork in our hands, bread plate taken whilst I still had the bread roll in my hand, the female food waiter and the male drink waiter crashed into each other at our table delivering drinks and meals at the one time..... At times it resembled a comic skit from Faulty Towers :-( Shame I wont be back because, as I said the meals are great.
We chose to dine in the full service restaurant and what a surprise.
The food was very good, way better than the average pub fare. The food was a little expensive but worth it. One of the best meals I have had in Werribee for many years and the service was excellent. Coffee needs to be better.
the meals arent average pub fare in the restaurant but not worth the money either you must not have eaten many places in werribee because they are one of the worst thats why they are not always busy
Well "False Menu" , perhaps you would like to check my comments on most restaurants in the Werribee area, as I have indeed dined in most restaurants in the area. As a newbie to TrueLocal, you may not have realised that my comments were made over 1 year ago. Many things can change in a restaurant over a year. Perhaps you shouild have taken notice of more recent comments than mine.
