Greetings from Sorell 25kms NE of Hobart. I am listening on my computer to 1629. Seeing your address on website, I believe you are broadcasting from Alan Bourne's studios? I still have recordings I made there in the late forties. I left Newcastle in 1952 to come to Tasmania to take a position as cadet announcer with the ABC. I had the one ambition to be a radio announcer brought on when i sang the Aeroplane Jelly Song on 2HD circa 1936. I was fortunate to be able to do the work I wanted and was fairly successful. Now retired 20 years. Still use the voice recording books for Christian Blind Mission's audio book service as a volunteer. Great to hear the good old songs. Thanks to Reg Davis currently on air.
Kind regards,
Ken Short AM
