The Hotel dates back to the mid 1800's and is one of a few surviving hotels from the bustling gold boom era. It is located adjacent to the historic working railway station which services the Melbourne to Bendigo line as well at the Steam Trains from both Maldon and Melbourne.

The Hotel has a real vintage feel of a bygone era incorporating a locals bar, bistro and bar and outside verandah area.

The Railway is a welcoming and inviting place for locals and travellers with an award winning chef preparing food sourced locally and a range of local beers and ciders on tap.

Our spirit wall hosts an inviting range of imported whiskey and bourbon choices and our wine range supports the vineyards of our region.

The open fireplace, eclectic decore, historic artifacts and much loved staff provide for a warm and enticing dining, drinking and entertainment experience.

The Hotel is open every day from 3pm to 11pm (later on weekends) with tea from 6pm. We are open for lunch on weekends from 12noon.

Come visit our award-winning bistro and dine from a seasonal menu selected by our head Chef Brunno Rocha Melo.

Our steaks are aged in-house and we source our produce from local gamekeepers, organic growers, local potato farmers, cheese makers, olive groves and Brunno even catches his own trout!

We bake our own bread and make our own ice creams and sorbets. Our dining options cater for everyone. For those who desire a hearty pub meal to those that are looking for something a little special and adventurous.

We have an extensive wine list which is sourced from local vineyards in the surrounding area, award winning wines from Harcourt Valley, Black Jack and Bress vineyards.

Our wines are served in beautiful glassware and we even have a stock of back vintages for those looking for something special!

If ale is more your style, why not match your food with our vast range of ales on tap! Our bistro has its own bar and open fireplace.
