We have stayed at this camping ground twice and were disappointed both times. First time camping in the powered area but the area does not drain properly and a little bit of rain put our tent in the water. Yes, dogs are allowed, but although we kept ours leashed at all times, I saw many dogs roaming around. Only one dryer worked and was very slow. The camp kitchen was very limited. On the plus side, plenty of showers and toilet facilities, which were kept clean.
The second time we stayed in a cabin. They are older style and not especially clean. And besides a broom and mop, there are no cleaning products . The stove hotplates were very old and did not light. We used a lighter but one didn't work at all. Also, be warned; the midges are dire. Pack heaps of insect repellent. All in all, very basic facilities, and not worth the price to be out of the township unless you particularly want somewhere dog-friendly. Won't be staying a third time.
Rainbow waters was a great place to camp.
The camp kitchen has a couple bbq's, a gas burner and most importantly, HOT WATER.
Showers and toilets were properly maintained. We had a powered site which was nice.
The only downside was other campers. We had someone right next to us whose camper drained out onto the ground next to their camper. The foodscraps from the sink, and what appeared to be at least liquid sewerage was just dumped. It would be good if there were rules that you don't just dump your sinks etc on the back side of your big caravan. Some large signs advising when quiet times are would also be good as people partying as loud as possible when your kids are trying to sleep and the relentless "doof doof" of what some people regard as music is just annoying at 1am.
We'll probably be going back though as the issues had to do more with other campers being inconsiderate.
