Raj's is our usual takeaway Indian restaurant and usually serves up some great food. The butter chicken is amazing as are the palak curries. It does surprise me that each time I walk past Raj's there are very few people eating in however perhaps most business is takeaway. We normally order delivery and it takes about an hour which is fine for us.
Ordered chilli chicken, rice and a spinach and cheese naan bread. The chilli chicken would have been alright if it was, a) double the size (the container was one of those small round ones, same with the rice) and b) had more chicken! I am giving two stars because indian hot was very hot (which I like). Also the spinach and cheese naan was small and very greasy. Not impressed for the cost.
I asked for a home delivery , two orders of chicken and naans, how will you go wrong? Firstly, the quantity is embarrassing for the same price I can get double what I had with rice include, did I mention they charge extra for the rice? Secondly, the chicken was not cooked well. The naan was less than I usually get from other places and it was very mushy. So ya I don't recommend it at all.
I am a regular to this restaurant and I love the food here... In reply to the below review, i strongly disagree to it.. The quantity, price and the quality of the food here is perfect...
This was my experience with this restaurant compared to other places in brisbane .. If you have a different opinion you have the right to write your own review as well as me. Cheers!
I agree with reem aman's comment - the amount of food you get for the price is ridiculous! I can get double the amount of curry and rice (and cooked MUCH better) at my local in Alderley. Not very impressed. If the serving size was better and the naan bigger (and not so greasy) I may write a better review.
This is one of my favourite Indian restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at, and I'm lucky enough for it to be not even 10 minute's walk from my door! Coming from London my standards in Indian food is pretty high and a lot of the time I find myself rather disappointed, but not surprisingly so. When I first ate here I WAS surprised...and for all the right reasons! The staff are always very friendly, polite and accommodating and the food is ALWAYS top notch! Medium Butter Chicken and anything with spinach are current favourites, nicely topped off with peshwari naan and two meat samosas to start. Occasionally I treat myself to the fried mushrooms too which are to die for! I gladly bring friends here as a boasting point and a delicious experience! The only down side would be the size of the restaurant and general authentic culture feel itself, but if you're going for the quality of food and service, then this is the place for you!
