Another business trip has lead me back to visit Ramellas Cafe. This time ordering something small to share between myself and my colleague. We weren't entirely hungry as we had a afternoon tea with our clients so a small bite to end the night after a long day at work was perfect with 2 small pizzas or foccacias that look like pizzas. 4 small slices each was enough for me and a beer to go down afterwards. The thick dough and nicely spread topping with a good serving of melted cheese made it taste so good. A bit greasy but what pizza isn't. Yet to have the opportunity to take my family but it's definitely on the list to do as i see Ramellas as a great family restaurant. The service is great, staff was very friendly and our order did not take long to arrive. Given it was 2 small pizza, we were served within 30 to 35 minutes of when the order was taken. Pizza were hot and fresh and you could smell how good it taste. Vey enjoyable.
Being one of the local favourites, Ramellas Caf serves western and Mediterranean cuisine. Predominately Turkish dishes. The caf always seems to have local patrons occupying their tables and being from Melbourne, that was a dead giveaway that I should be dining here. Service was absolutely friendly as expected from a regional town. Our entrees came out and after taking the first bite, the plate was empty in no time. Once the mains were served, there were no doubts as to why this place attracted a lot of local traffic. Sensational crispy skin salmon and the deconstructed kebab had the right combinations going through my mouth. I'm a big fan and lover of kebab and to try is deconstructed for the first time was a fantastic and most satisfying experience. Great to have experienced such a local gem and looking forward to my next visit. Ramellas Cafe is on my list to come back as i would like to take my family and also try other dishes on the menu.
The best potato & pumpkin soup I have tasted for a long time. Could have been served a little hotter.
Gluten free bread was 'ok' but not home made or anything special. Came already covered in butter - which was a 'no' for me - I would rather decide if I wanted butter or not (so on the side would be better for me).
Hot Chocolate was good.
Very dog welcoming with drink bowl (a big plus for me) and the service was just great!
I would visit again.
