We are locals. We drive from opposite side of town to go here. Reasonable price n old fashion service.

You can be a naughty vegan you know? So we don't eat animals and their products, but geez we like hot chips.

Red Dolphin happily replaced a meat patty with a potato scallop and left off the butter. Vegan Scallop Burger. Tick!

This place is always busy and to me, that's a positive sign the place is popular for a reason. We ordered 4 hamburgers and chips. We waited longer than you would at a large, Americanized, mass produced, "burger" chain. But, if looking for a freshly cooked meat patty that doesn't look like road kill, toasted, no trace of butter, cheese, pickles or gherkins and freshly cooked chips that don't taste as if they've been re-cooked in the same oil..then this is your "burger joint"

Petty unhappy with how long it took to get our order. There was items missing from the missus' fishermans basket. They tried to sneak in tartar instead or aioli, when hit up about it they said they'd run out. Seafood overcooked and super greasy. My works burger was tasty however bun not toasted....grrrr....

Positives; The seafood was nice.

Negatives; Ordered at 12:15, received at 1:00 - it took 45 minutes for 1 fisherman's basket = a serve of chips & there were only three customers in the shop before me at this stage.

Instead of cooking each order as it comes they seem to do them in batches...as when the first lot went out at 12:20 three numbers were called up, then 40mins later another 3 at once... no other orders went out in between the two lots.

Also a minor thing is the calamari was still joined to the body if the squid so it had three legs meaning it was hard to eat in front of other people but still tasted good.

Paid $18.00 for a single fisherman's basket, to me a bit dear as I pay this at restaurants & this is just a take away shop.



Would I purchase again? maybe phone ahead but would not dare order in store again.
