Red Lantern is a Luke Nguyen/ Mark Jensen marvel. It never fails to impress and is always consistent in quality. It’s a superbly ran tried and tested restaurant and the success boils down to the best of everything when you visit. From service, to food, to presentation, to decor, cocktails and even music. One of my all time favourite places to feast.
Full review is now up on Spooning Australia.
Cruise down Crown St and you could potentially walk straight past this cozy little joint. Despite not having a clear or visible sign, the red hues of the huge Westpac sign made us think it was coming from the restaurant! Anyway, after um-ing and ah-ing about our dinner options, (and having the special cocktail to make things easier (lime & ginger martini, yes please!) my husband and I decided on a Hanoi Hunger tasting plate and did not regret it one bit. To top the evening off, the staff was lovely and the ...read more
Luke Nguyenn was in the house so it was going to be a good one. The renovation of this restaurant (previously a pizzeria) is magical, with a cocktail/waiting area at the rear with to a cocktail list to die for.
We dined for lunch so it wasn't too busy at all, but I'm guessing if its anything to go by the Red Lantern on Crown Street, that this place is a busy one at night.
The service i great and what you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant. The menu didn't look cheap (thank god the boss was paying ;)
But the food was really really amaze, full of flavor, Vietnamese with a modern Australian twist - by no means is this place authentic, but I didn't mind at all as the food was divine.
Great place for a special dinner with one or many people.
Full 5 stars from me :)
