I have never eaten such tasty and aromatic Indian cuisine anywhere in Australia. I have been to more than 30 Indian restaurants and this has earned first position on my list. Garlic Naan, Butter chicken and Papri chat has made my day already before I had the mango lassi and Now i just wish to keep having more food but i was already full. Staff, owner and ambience are very friendly and Indian culture as an inherent attribute is evidently seen here!! Enjoy your life guys and if you are hungry, just go to Red Pepper.
Awesome little Indian restaurant on Bourke Street, near parliament house.
The décor of the restaurant is average- but the food is great!
Big flavours and authentic tastes.
Based on recommendation from the staff, we had the Pani Puris as entrée. These are pastry balls filled with potatoes and chick peas, and lots of spicy water. So it’s a spicy water shot in your mouth. It was DELICIOUS!
As drinks we tried the Goan beer and the traditional lassis. The Goan beer was very smooth, and a great treat. The lassis were good too – but I was disappointed with the plain lassi. It didn’t have much flavour. There was a large range of wines, but surprised me too.
For the mains we shared Saag and Kundra Paneer with corn naan and butter naan. The serving size is HUGE for all these items. Great value!
There was a lot of oil on the corn naan though, which made it very filling.
Great night out, with great food.
Thanks Red Pepper
