All I can say is give this place a miss, there isn't anything all that fantastic about it. Okay, I have been here a couple of times (once many eons ago when I still had pimples). Okay, it is a railway pub, but just because it is a short distance from a railway station doesn't necessarily mean that it is any good. Basically it is you standard suburban pub with nothing all that exciting inside. So, get off the train, have a beer, and get back on the train again. Most of the times I've been here it has been fairly quite, which is something that I don't mind with a pub, and it does have a beer garden out the back, but it isn't anything all that fantastic. Mind you, it is Adelaide, so I generally don't expect all that much out in the suburbs anyway. The porch out the front is pretty cool though, so I will give it a point for that.
Very disappointed with the meal. Firstly I got a big chunk of purple onion shell in my salad. I ordered char grilled prawns with hot chilli salsa served with saffron rice...I got soggy prawns in a tasteless mix of capsicum, celery and tomato with stodgy plain rice.....in one word....c**p
I wish I had read this review before having lunch there last Sunday. I ordered the same meal, it was just as disappointing. Won't be going there again.
Felt like a pub meal so decided to give this pub a try since we were near by. Was pretty quite the night we came with only another table of two occupied along with ours. Some items on the menu caught my eye, picked one in particular but was told after I'd already paid that the dish wasn't available so had to pick again. Waitress made a mistake with the change given back to my partner so I had to work it out and show her my calculations. The food we ordered was... ok... My partner enjoyed his steak. My steak burger wasn't that satisfying. The hot chips and aioli was nice and I enjoyed their garlic bread. I like how this pub still has a salad bar because most pubs these days are done with salad bars.
