Renison Cottages
Rension Cottages offers a range of cottage accommodation at Strahan on Tasmania’s west coast. Strahan is a four-and-a-half hour drive from Hobart (298 kilometres) and Launceston (290 kilometres).The turn-of-the-century cottages have been renovated in contemporary style. All have fully-equipped kitchens, gas open fires, shared laundry facilities, television, DVD and CD players and telephones. Continental breakfast provisions are supplied and there is an outdoor barbecue area. Tasmanian wine is available for purchase inside the cottages. Originally a prospector’s dwelling, Tramway Cottage has one, queen-size bedroom and ensuite with corner spa. The Federation-style Tyndall and Dundas cottages are co-joined with separate entrances. Three-bedroom Tyndal Cottage has high ceilings and ornate timberwork and has two queen and one twin/king bedroom. This cottage has two bathrooms.Dundas Cottage has one, queen bedroom and an ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower. Tyndal and Dundas cottages also have facilities for guests with a disability. Melba cottage is an open-plan, self-contained cottage with one queen bedroom and ensuite bathroom with a spa. Strahan sits at the western edge of Tasmania’s Wilderness World Heritage Area.
