I usually purchase sandwiches from the Doncaster Rhumbas. However, today I received the most terrible customer service. I was greeted with a rude tone but I chose to ignore it and ordered a toasted sandwich with coleslaw. Their facial expression dropped and they rudely grunted a "Fine. Toasted." Then they proceeded to complete the transaction and asked me to pay for the meal. "$7.50". I had wanted coleslaw but supposedly they didn't hear me and started to argue with me. They slammed the change back onto the bench and stuffed the sandwich with coleslaw. I was completely shocked by this because it had not been my fault at all!
When my sandwich had finished toasting (or should I say burning), they slid the plate onto the bench and just left.
Never returning there. Terrible service. Rude staff. Completely ignorant to the concept of customer service.
Whilst waiting to be served, I asked a fellow customer if the staff would cut fresh slices of roast for a sandwich. She said "definitely" because the off cuts on the board were dry together with other fatty bits.
When served, most of the roast was still intact so I asked for a fresh slice for my sandwich, the sales assistant said that nothing new will be cut off till the bits on the board were consumed. I could not believe that she wanted to put all the offcuts in my purchase.
All the customers witnessing this were shocked at her response.
Will not be buying any food from this place because they don't seem to have the ethic that the customer should be taken care off.
They should visit The David Jones food hall in Bourke Street to learn and experience excellence in customer service.
