Most of the food here is first class, and I buy a lot from here. However forget the Vietnamese BBQ Pork Rolls. They are very ordinary. For a start they are not on a Baguette, but rather on a soft crusted roll sort of like a short french stick. Also they taste just like any salad roll from any takeaway. No vietnamese sauce at all,no spicy taste, and the meat seems to be processed chicken slices and Devon Sausage from the supermarket. I have been eating Vietnamese food for about 40 years and visit Vietnam every couple of years so I know how it should be, and this ain't it.Sticking a sprig of coriander in a salad roll does NOT make it a Vietnamese roll. It is a shame that as the old people leave the vietnamese food industry and the younger ones take over the authenticity of the food is disapearing.
Little bakery stall in the new Richlands Shopping Centre open at 5:30am. This is the only place round here you can get something to eat first thing. Service is obliging and quality and price are fine and also has little tables round the side to sit and eat, but be careful of the very aggressive Butcher Birds.
