I have been coming here for over 25 years and always enjoy it. It's great in summer but also really cosy and warm in winter. The location is magical and the food is good overall but secondary to the ambience and location. It does get busy and is harder to find parking than used to be.
Extremely disappointing. Basic fish and chips were served cold. You would expect it to be cooked fresh, given the price and popularity of the dish. After complaining the staff removed our plate and returned with a small plate with a piece of fish. What happened to the rest of our dish, chips, salad? When our meal was finished, the staff cleared the plates and told us, 'we could leave now'. Their intention may not have been literal, but after our lunch experience it was not timed well. Would not return there again. Pity given the good location.
4 years ago I went there for lunch, swore I would never go back the Cakes and scone are good but the quality of the food is way below standard. Went back 8 months ago... This time I will never go back. - Location is great.. right on the beach....1/2 a point for location
This is one of the better cafe-style houses in and around Beaumaris. There are plenty to choose from, however this one has the added benefit of location - for without an actual view of the bay, the rest simply feel like, and may as well be located in any suburb, anywhere - overlooking local traffic and suburban nothingness. However being positioned on the bay side of beachroad has allowed the view to actually be worthwhile. In colder weather, the fireplace is lovely - but the room does get busy ... so perhaps dine early for a table in the immediate cosy warmth of the fireplace. The service is good, the food is also nice and certainly too much for one person to eat. I have enjoyed lunch here, as have my daughters, friends and other people from work. My daughter swears there are no better hot chips anywhere!
