riverside kitchen and events

I have been here a few times over the years and the staff and management today are, with respect, the best yet. They care about their customers and served us well. The food was good although I would have loved it coming faster

We have eaten at Riverside Kitchen numerous times with family and friends and have

recommended them to many other residents of Ascot Vale. The service can be patchy, although the wait staff are usually very pleasant, apart from the management. Management is rude and officious and clearly should not be allowed anywhere near the clientele. The management also seems to have a rather 'precious' attitude with regard to breakfast times etc, but we have been prepared to accept all this as the outside dining area has a delightful view, and the food, while not outstanding, is generally quite good. ...read more

We were looking for a local place to eat Friday night with our family and this venue had an amazing atmosphere! Really reasonable prices ($19 for two courses), great food and super friendly service, plus we got there to enjoy the last of happy hour drinks. I tried the crispy skin salmon, cooked to perfection, and I loved the complimentary side salad. My only criticism is the limited choice of entrees, all of which are fried apart from the flat bread (delicious hummus, order this one!) Plus there is live music a bit later on in the evening, great atmosphere for families. Have already booked for next week!

Worst food ever. Everything is deep fried and way over salted. Also the muffins we bought were so raw on the inside it was like eating cake batter....not impressed and very very disappointed. Stick to la porchetta or McDonald's!!!
