Riverview Hotel is a very popular local pub in Balmain. The ground level is the public bar while the upper level is a restaurant. It is set in a historic building which gives this place a real sense of history and narrative. The Riverview Hotel is a good place to enjoy their range of beers, especially on sports nights.
This place brings a new meaning to top-notch pub grub. Riverview means restaurant quality food, made with fabulous local produce, at pub prices. That?s the mantra of the ?gastro pub? concept of chef Tim Condon, a term incidentally he thinks is often abused. Bridging a much-needed gap between high-end city restaurants and pubs, this is the Anglo equivalent of the French Brasserie. This is another one of the quaint pubs that I quite like. In fact, the pub really seemed to fit into its location, and while you don’t strictly have a view of the harbour, there is still quite a nice charm about the place. Mind you, it is actually pretty small, but I guess that also adds to the charm, even though it probably isn’t one of my favourites. However, it was a nice cosy place that would suit really well as a local pub for the area.
Gorgeous Pub located in Balmain which has a strong local following. Arriving at 8pm this place is packed on ground floor with a mature crowd.... The menu is simple but to suit all tastes. Customer service is great and the food comes out very fast. I highly recommend the Beef and Guinness pie, colcannon and roasted Dutch carrot
