Hidden several steps away from the crowd of Crown St, Robocog serve its customers in an intimate, medium-sized house-turned-cafe with just enough indoor and outdoor seats available without sacrificing personal space.
My first visit to this place was on a Friday afternoon during a spring time. It was pretty quiet with only a few customers here and there, enjoying the up-beat background music from behind the counter.
I had the eggs veggie dish, which was basically poached eggs served with mushroom spinach and sourdough toast. The serving size was a little small as there was only one slice of toast, but it was otherwise quite a beautiful dish. The hollandaise sauce was delicious, the eggs were perfectly done, and the elements worked together beautifully. Consistent with the serving size, the price was a little bit less expensive compared to others serving similar dishes in the area.
The staffs were friendly and attentive
If you come to this cafe on the weekend, there is often a line up outside but they work hard to move it really quickly for you so you can get seated right away. The breakfasts are big and hearty and there is a lot of mexican inspired dishes like Chorizo and Egg Tortillas and Spinach Quesedillas. The coffee is good. This is great cafe for sitting out on the balcony and watching passers by, the food is good but not stand out but there is a great relaxed vibe.
