Rochester Castle Hotel

Okay, I don’t remember this place being a grunge pub the last time I was here, however, having been quite a while since I was last here I don’t actually remember all that much about it, so when I stepped inside more recently I was incredibly impressed. You probably have figured out that I have a thing for grunge bars, but that probably has something to do with spending countless Saturday nights in one back when I was at university. While I did feel a little out when I came in here in business clothes, I didn’t necessarily feel uncomfortable. The other really cool thing was the beer garden, but then again any pub with a beer garden is a decent pub in my books. This is certainly a place that I’d want to visit again (if I get around to it that is).

Stumbled upon this pub one Monday night and foun they had $1 oysters and $5 wines on offer - needless to say we stayed! Friendly old pub venue that no doubt is much busier other nights of the week but was nice and spacious on an early Monday eve.

Love this pub! Great to watch footy on a cold Melbourne saturday or sunday arvo!

Love the rochie, easy to get to and always packed, a great night out. Mid-week meals are good too, recommended.

Nice old style bar with some cool things around giving you feel of being in a castle but with a modern twist.
