Rocks Brewing Co
We are an Australian-owned and operated brewery lead by fifth and sixth generation convict descendants. Our Australian craft beers are traditional, great tasting ales.Started in 2008, Rocks Brewing Co is the culmination of a lot of dreams and not a small amount of monetary investment â?? not to mention blood, sweat and tears. However, after six years of being the quintessential Australian gypsy brewers, we have finally opened our own state-of-the-art, first-of-its-kind brewery in the Sydney suburb of Alexandria. The once industrial wasteland is now at the forefront of the Sydney culinary scene and the perfect home for our craft beers, our new brewery and the Brewery Bar.
We take pride in the complex and sophisticated flavours of our brews, which are achieved while staying true to our simple brewing process â??
â??Nothing but Barley, Hops, Water & Yeast.â??
Our first batch of Red Ale â?? originally known as Richard Byrne Red Ale â?? was brewed September 2008.
Since then we have created a core range of beers â?? based around the shady characters and sly merchants that called the first settlement home â?? as well as the Conviction Range of limited edition brews that push the boundaries of brewing.
The Brewery Bar is bringing the best of American-style cuisine and quality Australian craft beer to Alexandria.
Open 7.30am-10pm for breakfast, lunch and dinner everyday, our chefs serve up the kind of comfort food that will have you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. ...read more

Rocks Brewery is a cool industrial style micro-brewery in Alexandria. Located as part of the wider sports complex this place has something for everyone. Great variety of home crafted beers, affordable pints (especially Wednesday happy hour $7) and an awesome options of wings, onion rings and burgers. We were here for origin on Wednesday night and it was packed with a great atmosphere. Definitely one to check out when you are in the area.
Went here on a friend's recommendation and golly gosh were they amazing. Absolutely amazing restaurant with delicious food and great customer service. I highly recommend their food-gasm inducing hot wings with blue cheese sauce. Great portion sizes at a resonable price.
However do avoid during peak rush times, as parking is extremely difficult to find and the quality of the food is slightly (but noticeably) diminished.
Simple and unpretentious, The Rocks Brewing Company is a nice place to learn about craft beer. Rocks Brewing Co. were kind enough to take us behind the scenes to give us a good overview of how craft beer is produced, starting with opportunities to taste the grain, and ending with filling kegs (a hard job if you're stuck there all day in the middle of summer with a wall of heat reflecting silver kegs). Their intriguing explanation of the way beermakers love making sours, which are the most analogue type of craft beers, aged in old wine and whisky barrels, inclined me to try one and now they're my favourite kind of beer!
Tucked away in an industrial estate this place is a nice surprise. It is large and open which is ncie when it is busy as you aren't on top of everyone else. Their beers are so good and brewed on the premises, which is nice to be able to see and ask questions about too. Their waffle fries are the BEST and their share plates are all good for a quick nibble over a beer.
