On a recent return trip from a summer day on the ever-wonderful Phillip Island, we suddenly realised we were famished, and pulled in to the next available township of Tooradin. At somewhere around 6pm on a Thursday evening, we were surprised to find the larger take-out store closed, and this little nearby independent store open. The two women who greeted us were amiable, and blessed with all the right qualities to avail a customer with just the perfect blend of friendliness and service. On requesting a chip and gravy roll for one member of our traveling party (something not on the menu), the women were happy to meet the request. it was a somewhat unusual experience in these modern times, to receive customer service which reflected something more old-world, whereby if the obvious ingredients were available, then a simple request could be met - instead of the mindless modern day view that if it's not on the menu, it's simply not possible.
