Roseville Returned Servicemens Memorial Club

I've dined here many times and it's always good. When I want a great meal that feels like its a great home cooked meal and I don't feel like cooking, this is the place. But tonight this place surpassed itself, for an odd reason. I had the chicken avocado, one of my all time classic faves to try anywhere it's offered. The sauce was lovely, creamy, garlicky, with just the right amount of wine. The veggies were perfect, mash was a delight. But then the chicken... It was rubbery and tasted bland. I'm just getting over the flu so I figured it could just be my lack of palette that was the problem, but then everything else was so good, so I put it down to a duff supplier, just not great chicken, as it was cooked well and was nice and thin and plenty of it. The Roseville rsl is a nice quiet club with plenty of seating in the dining area. Drinks are very reasonably priced, in particular their oyster bay sav blanc which is only $27/bottle for Members. Unfortunately the food is on the expensive side and a lot of the dishes I have tried are of pretty poor quality, in particular the steak and veggies which costs around $25. They do have some delicious starters like theprawn and chicken skewers but they are also a little expensive at $14.

They often have events on friday nights for the locals to enjoy as well as a regular free poker game on Wednesdays from 7:30pm. The poker is ran by a local and generally consists of 3 tables, most players are regular and it's a very casual gsmr of poker enjoyed by players of all standards.

Great local club that has really benefitted from recent renovations. Good food, well priced and a welcome for every patron. I've seen children's birthdays, political party meetings and other local group meetings at this versatile venue. We've had great family nights out here and have always enjoyed their annual charity dinner.
