Rosie O'Grady's (Fremantle)

While I knew about the hotels in Fremantle before I arrived, there was still some simple wandering about required to actually find them. This one is tucked away on one of the malls, and not the major Cappucino Strip (as it is so referred to). As such it tends to be a little quieter than the others. However, the pub does have a nice charm about it, and also a lovely lounge bar and beer garden. They even has a smokers area, which is actually somewhat nicer than most of the smoker's cages that I have encountered in the past. It does have a nice character about it, and some decent beers on tap as well, so it is certainly a place that I would recommend.

I stayed here with two friends during a conference in December last year (2010), so I can't comment on the pricing. I also usually stay at hostels, not hotels.



The place is beautiful. It has the sort of look which begs you to whip out your camera so that you can show your friends you were actually allowed to sleep in what looks like a bit of history. There is also a giant leprechaun near the pub, which I found ...read more

Good if you like beer and live bands, but serious backpacker hangout in summer.
