We had a great overnight stay on Rottnest. The ferry service by Rottnest Express from Rous Head was fast and efficient. The only downer of the whole trip was not being able to purchase refreshments at the Northport Ferry Terminal due to the kiosk being one of those "cash only" businesses (yes, they still exist!!) and the Basil Fawlty exchange that ensued. If you visit this establishment (which, to be clear, is apparently not in associated with the Rottnest Express business), don't mention the war....errr "eftpos".
The kiosks to purchase your tickets and bike hire on the island are very well organised and you can also pre-purchase tickets on line. Big clean ferry with plenty of seating options inside and out. Café on board sells tea, coffee, snacks and alcoholic beverages. Comfortable ride to the island. All the staff are very friendly and professional. Ferry leave on time.
