Royal George Hotel

I really can't say that I liked this pub all that much, though considering the crowds that seem to gravitate here I suspect that I might be one of the few. I guess it was just too much like your standard pub for me to be all that impressed, and the music that they were playing didn't make me all that enthusiastic about the place. Mind you when I first walked in here I entered the small bar down the side next to the pokies room and thought that this was it, until I exited through a different door into the outdoor area on the mall to discover that it was a lot larger. They actually have bands playing in the outdoor area on the mall, which can be a little annoying if you are on the other side at another bar trying to enjoy their music. Sure, the crowds may love this place, but it is not really my scene.

The RG is great from 11pm onwards, i spent friday night there and it was the best night i've had for a very long time. Lots of love for the DJ, he played my tunes all night.

I don't tend to venture far into RG's... the interior is not the reason why I go there.

I go to RG's because I love the beer garden out the front.

It's the perfect place to go to on a Sunday afternoon to listen to some nice local music, and watch the world go bye...

This place seems to be a bit of a dive during the morning with patrons in varying stages of drying out or retoxifying. But if you go there from say 11:30 am on it picks up and they have quite a nice meal selection and on a Sat/Sun arvo a duo or solo act on the little stage outside. Still a bit dingy though and it tends to drag the atmosphere of the mall down a bit.
