Tried the RMH on a week day and I was quite surprised how busy it was. Beautiful old hotel with a huge undercover alfresco area in the centre of the hotel. Loads of lunch options and daily specials available. We ordered the Pizza, Pasta and drink special for $12.00 which was great value for lunch. The pizzas were good and the meals were cooked and brought out in a timely manner even though the venue was busy, so the specials would be ideal for a weekday working lunch.
This pub actually has a bit of history, not so much the pub itself but rather the building that it occupies. The building used to be the old police station and I was told that Ned Kelly actually occupied the cells out the back. Mind you, while it is now a pub it still retains many of the old sections, and there is a dinning area out the back in the old cell block (which does look a little spooky). The Warden's Room is also a place where you can have a meal (though you may need to book ahead). The pub itself gets quite crowded after work, but I still really like the place, especially the staff who were more than happy to tell me the story of its heritage. I definitely will be visiting this place again, maybe even for a meal out in the cell blocks.
