Rugantino Restaurant

This is a good honest restuarnat and pizza good too.

I have been coming to Rugantino's Restaurant since the early 80s. I've probably been there over 100 times or more. The pizza tastes the same today as it did back then. Lucious, wholesome quality food. Authentic italian in a predominately anglo saxon area. Who would believe it but its true ! Rugantino's is what I would call 100% pure italian food. Excellent recipes that have not changed, although many staff have changed throughout the last 30 years. And why is this you ask ? It all comes back to the family dynasty that is Rugantinos. The same traditional recipes exist today because the restaurant prides itself on tradition and repeat customers.It is always a pleasure to go to the restaurant and meet the latest family member cook pizzas to perfection, tossing them in the air as they always do. I had good impressions when 1st entering this restraunt warm and inviting and lovely staff. Had garlic and cheese pizza for entree it was fantastic !!! But was very disappointing when mains arrived plates very small they i have never seen plates so small so it made it look like there was of heaps of food but it was a small serving. Most meals eaten on table were ok but the eye fillet was shocking it looked like a blob with a smaller blob on top it was so tuff i had to stop eating it so i wonder was it fillet never seen it served this way before. Staff didnt seem so concerned when we told them as they didnt come back with any explanation. i suggest if anyone goes to this restraunt to make sure you order entrees and stay away from the eye fillet

Table of 17 people horrible service, every order bar one was wrong, three meals were sent back twice! They were rude, got free dessert, strawberry pancakes were actually tinned strawberries on a crepe! Never going there again, left and paid for two cokes, they joked with next table and asked if they wanted to complain too! Disappointing.

the first time i ever went to this resturant was on a friends birthday a few years back now, and my gosh, it was the best food i've had in years, the flavours and assortment of pastas, thier whole setup was exceptional, its a small little family resturant, thats big on taste.
