I should start by saying that this is a review of the bar as opposed to the hotel itself. The Russell is actually a part of The Fortune of War since you can actually walk down a hallway out the back and get to the other pub, but in my mind they are two different pubs (since they have two different names). This is a lot more quieter to the Fortune, and looks a lot more classier as well. Mind you, the Mountain Goat IPA looked a little too dark when I ordered it, not much what I remember the other times I've had a spot of that beer. Also it isn't the cheapest of pubs, and they don't do midis either, which I find a little annoying at times, especially when I am not looking a drinking a schooner. It's an okay pub, but it certainly isn't one of the best that I've been to, and would probably give it a miss the next time I am down this way.
