The furniture that Rust make is lovely and they helped make a custom piece of furniture that we still love. But we also purchased an enormous table that showed a fault several months in. This seemed to not be the fault of Rust's carpenters but the timber supplier. However it needed to be addressed as the split worked its way into the table. Six months later, after badgering and indecision and non-action, they pick up the table promising the repair would take about a week. Four weeks later, after many broken promises, a final promise of a return date is agreed but I get nothing on the day and no return of calls and emails. I have to go down to the warehouse two days later to find out if they've gone bankrupt or something. The table hadn't been repaired and they didn't even have the timber to start the repair. My experience with Rust furniture was without doubt the worst retail experience I have had to endure. I visited their North Melbourne showroom in March 2014. I ordered a kitchen table and entertainment unit. I was assured by Kerryann that delivery would be within three to four weeks. I paid my deposit on 9 April 2014, in the full expectation that delivery would be within a month. I was getting my floors sanded in July. Never did I think, that ordering furniture in April, with a promised delivery of four weeks would be an issue with floor sanding in July. However this proved to be the case. After listening to every excuse under the sun, including that the delay was my fault due to the fact my floors were getting sanded in July 2014; three months after I placed the order!
