I can’t say enough good things about Rye Vet Clinic. Have been using their services for over 15 years (for a total of four four-legged family members across this time) and they always amaze me with their care, concern and expertise, whether it be in person or when on a number of occasions when I have rung wondering if I should be bringing in pooch/es when ill. Very grateful for their great bedside matter (so to speak) also.
I just backed out of having my 4 year old jack russell operated on for teeth plaque here (a procedure they recommended). It's major in that general anaesthetic is required. She was booked for 9am, after being ignored for 10 mins by the receptionist, a new vet checked my dog out and asked if I wanted 'bloods' and 'fluids' done. I replied that I wasn't sure what that meant, can they advise (I'm not the vet!). What proceeded was an awkward conversation where my interpretation was that this was a cost/risk discussion whereby an IV drip was suddenly an optional extra (really?) and if my sweet doggie dropped dead on the operating table - it may be my fault as I hadn't agreed to the extra $250 dollars on top of the $350 originally quoted. Not the 'country vet' service I expected. My dog meanwhile was shaking uncontrollably and scratching at the door to get out! She never does that. So we left.
