Wow. So incredibly rude. Made a complaint about my dish and received severe retribution from one of the wait staff. When I questioned that they physically tried to remove me from the premises even though I was leaving and almost at the door. I asked to take their hands off me or I would press assault charges but they refused. They pushed me out the door, slammed and then locked it. What on earth? I am not a confrontational person so rarely make complaints. I am a middle aged person who was affronted enough to mention the obvious attitude. My elderly mother was aghast. When I walked in that day there were no other customers there. We were offered a seat in the busiest location and requested to be seated by the fire as it was more pleasant. The huffs and eye rolls, the manner in which the wait staff pulled put the chairs for us to sit, it was very disrespectful. I have no idea why they continue to employ this person. Clearly the management is just as rude ...read more
For the past 3 or so years I have been meeting with friends and having lunch at Sage about three times a year. The staff are helpful and attentive. The food is excellent and the Hot chocolate today was exceptional. Lunch time Turkish bread filled with roasted vegies is yum and a generous size, it comes accompanied by delicious chips with a bowl salad, too much for me to eat..so take one half away and have it for tea.
The young lady who assisted us by taking a photo was even and accomplished photographer. I would recommend Sage as it is an enjoyable experience to have lunch there.
Think twice before dining at this establishment, food is average but the management are rude and obnoxious to their customers and they make it clear to you that they don't care what you think. Give your hard earned money to a restaurant that actually treats their customers with respect because at the end of the day without the customer they have nothing and these people do not seem to understand this concept or simply do not care.
Never come across such a rude management in my life. Went to Sages due to the play area for younger children and room for a large booking. At the end of our time there we asked a staff member to take a group photo for us only to have the management screech at staff from the back of the restaurant to hurry up as people were waiting to be seated (seriously waited no more than 60seconds in total). I was shocked and felt sorry for the wait staff as was being nice and quickly took the photo(as anyone would when they're asked to take a photo). We certainly didnt ask for staff to take a whole shoot just one snap and it was clear to anyone that this was a reunion. Then when our group were finalising the payment the manage spoke so rudely to our group over a coffee that was overlooked on payment. When my friend offered to pay she was snapped at. Would NEVER enter this establishment again due to the disgraceful customer service.
Wow! Talk about some mixed reviews. Fotunately, I have only had good experiences at this restaurant. We've been here on many occasions now and have never had the poor meals or rude service others seem to have encountered. My wife, son and I were there for dinner last Thursday (March 2013) and had a great waitress. The Chef (and owner) also recognized my wife from last time; remembering her special dietry requirements and even where we previously sat. That was six months ago.
The meal sizes are good (and I'm a big eater). My son did comment as did another reviewer, that his lemonade tasted very ordinary. Probably a syrup mixture or brand issue???
We will happily return.
