Chef Tomoyuki Usui plucks the best parts of French and Japanese cuisines to make his own exciting menu. The Duck Liver, Beetroot Macaron ($3/each) is a good place to begin. Despite looking every part the sweet treat, these texturally perfect macarons start with a big burst of rich, savoury duck liver, that fills the mouth then peters away to a semi-sweet finish. The Eggplant ($16) is another winner!
S'age is situated amongst a high quantity of restaurants lining Willoughby Road and the Pacific Highway in Crows Nest. The area has an array of cafes, bistros and takeaway joints where you are quite spoilt for choice. However this restaurant is more upscale. Entering the restaurant from the main road, you'll find a sophisticated dining space, dim lighting, lovely ambience and light music.
Previously a Japanese restaurant, the chef also worked there.
