I had Sailors Thai recommended to me at a Conference I was attending so decided to check it out with a few colleagues of mine and I was definitely not disappointed. The food was first class as was the service. We sat downstairs and loved the ambience of the restaurant and the design of each of the areas was fantastic. The food was delicious. You could taste all the different flavours. We got four dishes to share and we could not choose which one was our favourite at the end of the night as all were so good in their own different way. I will definitely be going there again next time I am in Sydney.

Returned to Sailors Thai to find the downstairs restaurant closed for a function so opted for Canteen Thai Noodle Bar upstairs. The food will not dissapoint however be aware the communal dining area will be loud and the atmosphere is suited to groups (the more the merrier) There are a couple of small tables on the balcony upstairs with great views of the harbour if you desire a bit of privacy try and book these

Dinner for 3 one beer and bottle of Sav Blanc ran at $150

Did I say the tastes were sensational ? they are so I would encorouge you to forget looking at the menu just ask the helpful if not over worked waiter for their recomendations - and take them

What an exquisite experience dining at the upstairs (Canteen section) of Sailor's Thai! The place had a very communal feel with diners sitting at very close proximity to you (even to the point of exchanging notes with each other in terms of what's good on the menu!). With our group, we ordered a dish of 'stir fried rice noodles' (served with peanuts, bean sprouts, egg, dried prawns, and bean curd) and 'green squid and green mango salad', which were both absolutely delicious. We also loved their extensive list of their wine menu - a glass of savignon blanc is always good with Thai dishes in my opinion! The service here was absolutely impeccable...definitely of Sydney's gems!

Have eaten here twice - upstairs in the canteen and downstairs with a more fine dining vibe. Both times the food was excellent. If you don't mind communal seating upstairs is the way to go, it's always packed so expect to hear others talking.

Downstairs is definitely an experience, and it does cost. The dishes are beautifully created and taste like it. The portions aren't too stingy either.

Not something I could afford every night but worth it every now and then - probably the only thing which could tempt me to the Rocks these days.

Two of us ate in the upstairs dining area and found a communal table which seats about 60-70. It wasn't too bad when there wasn't many people there, but when more people arrived, it was like being in a sardine tin. We shared an entree and ordered a bottle of wine and 2 dishes. The food was ok (nothing special) and was served too quickly. The main courses all came out at the same time and with the lack of space was awkward. When we required service, it was slow or non existent (felt ignored). For $140.00, it was very overpriced, over rated and under serviced. Will not go back .
