I've had my engine machining done by Saliba indirectly through an enginer builder friend. They pre identified faults in a new crank. They did all the machine work perfect. Everything measure exact. No going back and forth. They were willing to spend the time helping make things right. I'm in the process of building another two Ford modulars now and they are the go to guys for the machine work. Many engine building I know use them all the time and allways highly praise them.
In july16, I engaged this company to fit new valve inserts into a set of chrysler alum cylinder heads. The work performed was unacceptable by all contemporary textbook (including the manufacturer's) tolerances, and effectively ruined my heads. I requested a review of the work by the shop owner who advised me that the work was fine and was correctly performed. He declined my request to redo the work and refused to visually review my concerns. He offered no refund. I took the heads in question to an independent shop who also specialise in this type of work. They confirmed the work provided was sub-standard and of poor quality. As this is the second incident where this company has delivered me a bad job, I won't be back and would never recommend them. I am a qualified tradesman in this business with over 35 years experience and have photos and receipts.
Hi Sakes!
The valve inserts that we fitted into the cylinder head were supplied by yourself! The valves were on the edges of the seats but that effectively means nothing. Tolerances!? Not sure you know what this means in relation to the valve seats, we'd be happy to explain it to you further should you have any questions about this.
We did exactly what you requested which is why we didn't offer you a refund. Additionally, this is the only time you have ever had a problem with us! In the future you can allow us to supply the correct size inserts to avoid this minor altercation.
Kind Regards
Andrew
