I decided to try the infamous poke bowl that is making such a stir in the food industry. This seriously on trend food is one of the signature dishes at salmon and bear Newtown. I loved it. What's there not to love? Salmon sashimi cubes, crispy seaweed, rice and vegetables. It is filling, full of flavour and now I'm hooked. Salmon and bear's salmon was so fresh and the poke bowl came with instructions on how best to enjoy it. I really liked the food, it was fast and a great price point. I would go back and try more salmon goodies!

The interior reminds me of those American TV shows where your going into a log cabin,you see the prize heads of the animals you have captured and then I was expecting a log fire fireplace and then I came back to reality. What I'm saying is I like the ambience/interior of this place.
Food wise I ordered the salmon taco and salmon burger. When my friend saw the taco he asked me "is that all your having?" I think he thought that it looked small! Well it is entree size

Salmon and Bear, “home of the grizzly plate” is a casual eatery serving a range of seafood proteins that can be selected and accompanied by a salad and a side. You can also order burgers, tacos and desserts.
Salmon and Bear has been in Zetland for a year now but this one in Newtown is a great addition to the long strip of multicultural restaurants on King Street.
